Dear Parents,
We are excited to announce a JFS STEAM Math in Motion 5 session hands-on workshop series,
sponsored by the PTA, to help students explore math concepts and test taking strategies in
preparation for the Math Kangaroo competition.
When: Weekly on Tuesdays, February 25th – March 25th @ 2:45 – 3:45 pm
Where: JFS STEAM Lab
Grades: Grades 1-6
Cost: $0 (Optional donation to Explore Foundation, info provided to registrants later)
Registration: 60 spots, open to grades 1-6
* Registration opens tomorrow Friday Feb 14th at 8 pm, and closes when full.

* First 60 registrants will be enrolled, and remaining registrants will join the waitlist.
Note: You do not need to be registered for Math Kangaroo to participate.
This spring session is for all grades (1st-6th) and taught by The Explore Foundation. Lessons
will be organized into the following 3 groups to align with the Math Kangaroo exam buckets:
* Grades 5-6 | Sessions led by Audrey Chiu. Audrey is a senior at EVHS with 5 years of
experience tutoring K-12 and competitive math through Mathnasium and private tutoring
sessions. She has helped struggling students go from C to A scores multiple times
throughout her tutoring journey.
* Grades 3-4 | Sessions led by Ava Lin. Ava is currently a senior at EVHS with a passion
for educating and connecting with community youth. She has instructed students on
topics up to Calculus for the past 5 years through Mathnasium, library volunteering, and
one-on-one tutoring for her peers.
* Grades 1-2 | Sessions led by Lori Zhou. Lori is a junior at EVHS, and determined to
help young individuals ranging from ages K-12 gain confidence in math. She’s been
tutoring at Mathnasium and volunteering at the library over the past 3 years.
